Safe Harbor Kitchen Supervisor
Make a difference at work! Safe Harbor of Grand Traverse (the region’s emergency winter shelter) is looking for a Kitchen Supervisor to work with our friendly kitchen volunteers, vendors and coordinators to maintain health standards and to coach them through nightly dinner preparation. The candidate should be a good communicator via phone and email and maintain our health department service plan (we can train you). This is a perfect job for someone with flexible afternoons and some weekends. 15 hours weekly, pay rate negotiable. We would love to discuss this further. Have a current ServSafe certificate or willing to obtain certification (we will cover the costs)
Experience working with groups of people
Be available for a 15 hour per week flexible schedule
Be on call to answer meal-related questions
Helping with kitchen procedures and creating a training manual
Training and supervising volunteers
Purchasing food staples and maintain kitchen supplies
Oversee inventory of food supplies and equipment
Oversee kitchen cleanliness and maintain Health Dept service standards
Maintain records for Board reporting as needed.
